Q2)  How did you get into the hospitality industry? 

I have always wanted to work in hospitality. So, when I came across a job advertisement for a housekeeping position, I took a chance and went for it. My first position was housekeeping at Marriott Grosvenor House. I was really excited to be accepted for the role. As, I knew I would be able to utilise the skills I have learned. For example, paying attention to detail, time keeping and creating an ambiance. 

Q3) Where do you work at the moment? 

With ConiferGB at Marriott Grosvenor House as a Room Attendant.

Q4)  What are your two favourite things about working with ConiferGB? 

I absolutely love the management at ConiferGB! they are always here to help. Any questions or queries are answered, and assistance is offered when needed. I also love the fact they treat you as individuals and not just employees that work for them. They all are very down to earth and make working for them a pleasure! 

Q5) What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting their career in hospitality?

If you are thinking about it, you clearly have a desire to know more. There is no better way than jumping in headfirst! I would say go for it. Just wear comfortable shoes 🙂 and have a positive attitude and u will excel! Good luck!

Working under pressure

Q2) Where do you work most of the time? 

I have worked with ConiferGB for around 7 years, specialising in corporate security; working mainly with Go Native Serviced Apartments at present. However, I have worked at many sites.

Q3) What is your job title? 

With ConiferGB I am a Security Supervisor – liaising with Site Managers to ensure the smooth operations of our security teams. 

Q4) What do you love most about your job? 

I love working with the general public and interacting with people. I have great communication skills, so I am able to help people greatly. 

Q5) What is it like working a Security night shift? 

It is noticeably quiet – and the shift feels much longer because there is not much interaction from the building/guests. 

Q6) What is the most difficult experience you have faced as a security guard? 

At a previous apartments I worked with, late in the night shift, the guest who booked the apartment; had a party without letting the apartments know and ended up having 11 people in one serviced apartment – which of course is not allowed. So, I had to tell the guests to leave the apartment – which was extremely difficult. 

Q7) What are your two favourite things about working with ConiferGB?

I am incredibly happy to work with ConiferGB and I am happy to be a supervisor with them. I love the management and colleagues I work with.
